Proton Exora - new MPV

Here's some info about new exora.

Protons results in a compact multipurpose vehicles produced by car manufacturer Proton and Malaysia launched on 15 April 2009. This is a new model from Proton is based on a new chassis. Development of multipurpose starting from scratch, and it is the first Malaysian designed MPV. Average fuel consumption 7.2 l/100 km (39 mpg-imp; 33 mpg-US). The gearbox is similar to the Proton Waja and Proton Gen-2 but has a higher final drive ratio to power supply.

The Body Exor provides control module that allows automatic activation and configuration of various vehicle functions such as door lock / unlock, interior lights, lights, brake lights and wipers.

Proton announced a contest called Proton MPV Naming Contest to find a name for the MPV. Competition ends 30 September 2008. This is the second time Proton appointment held a contest for your new car, after the Proton Saga.

The result was announced to 17 February 2009. Name Proton Exor picked up the name protons MPV Competition Grand Prize winner Norsholihan BT Abdul Eanich among 251,763 entries.

A controversial policy of appointment to this event said that the listing should not be taken from the flora and fauna, but the winning entry was inspired by Exor of Ixora flower. Proton later clarified that this is only Exor Ixora similar but not directly name any flora and fauna, so it is allowed.
